FIGHTING IN THE AIR
41 MACHINES DOWNED, ALL RECORDS BROKEN. London, Angust 11. An aviation report states: During intense air fighting on the ipth, we destroyed forty-one machines and drove clown twenty uncontrollable. Twelve of ours are missing.
We dropped tons of bombs in the daytime and thirty-one tons, principally|on bridges,and a ’station in the Somme valley, at night time.
The amount oYsmall arms ammunition fired from the air upon the retreating enemy breke all recent records.
We brought down two night bombers, one being a giant German machine with five engines and a heavy load of bombs. Anti-aircraft gnus' downed two others recently.
