CABLE i STEAMER (SUNKReceived August 13, 8.50 p.m. Ottawa, August 13. Survivors at a Canadian port reports that the cable steamer, Mackay Bennett, was torpedoed. The crew is safe. BRITISH STEAMER SUNK. A German submarine sank a British steamer in the Atlantic. The fate of the crew is unknown. SUBMARINES SINK NINE FISHING SCHOONERS. (Auat. and N.Z. Cable Association J Washington, Auugst 11. , It is announced that a U operating off the Massachusett coast sank nine fishing schooners' It is not known whether there was any loss of life. * TWO STE A MERS SUNK.

Another fifteen men also were rescued from another torpedcecUsinp. MIKES IN AUSTRALIAN WATERS. Sydney, August 12. A steamer towed into Eden a mine discovered northeast of t import. Another was sighted and search for it is proceeding. It probably drifted from the Gaho minefield, previously reported.
