A GERMAN COUNTER-ATTACK REPULSED. BRITISH ADVANCE NORTH OF SOMME, MUCH HIGH GROUND CAPTURED Received August 13, 9 a. m. London, August 12. Sir Douglas Haig reports:—The enemy this evening again attacked our positions southwards of Lihons, but was repulsed. As the result of a successful operation, immediately southward of the Somme, we linked up our positions eastward of Merlincourt with pur line eastward of Etinehem on the northern bank of the river. On the right of the Fourth British Army the’French in ttia afternoon of August 11th, progressed towards Roye, capturing Armancourt and Tiiloloy.
