SOMES ISLAND INTERNEES
HIDING UNDER THE FLOOR , (Far Teresa Aoscciattf;®Wellington, August 12. The four German internees on Somes Isiand who disappeared mysteriously in the early hours of Friday last, were found in the barbed wire enclosures on the island at 8.00 a.m. to-day. None of the officials saw them make their re-appearauce. The men were very hungry and very cold. They had been hiding under the floor of the building in which they and other internees had been quarter-d. It is believed that they removed some flooring hoards in order to get under the structure. They are now lodged in cells on the island, pending an enquiry’ into the circumstances of their escape. The liberty of"the other internees is being restricted.
