Sydney, August 9.
A meat famine is promised next week. The Master Batchers’ Association have resolved that it is impossible to maintain supplies atr the proclaimed rate, throwing the responsibility on the Government. The butchers refused to supply meat to the People’s Foodstuff Protection Association. which undertook to demonstrate that i could sell profitably at the proclaimed prices.
A similar state of affairs exists in Melbourne, wheie the butchers threaten drastic action after Monday.
