Bolshevik reinforcements arrived at Esakogorke, the next station to Archangel. White Guards attacked and drove; them out, taking prisoner many anti-Eolsehviks. There are revolutions in several districts within a radius of two hundred miles of Archangel. Paris, August S.
The Petit Parisian states that the new Provisional Government at Archangel will shortly be officially continued.

SUBMARINE SUNK IN THE
CHANNEL,

An armed yacht destroyed a submarine i.u the English Channel. She sighted a periscope, drove over the spot and diopped depth charges. She observed a disturbance, in the midst of which bubbling indicated that volumes of air were escaping. She picked up the submarine’s soie survivor, covered with oil, who died of intern 1 injures. THE SHIPPING SITUATION. DEFEAT OF PIRACY CERTAIN. London, August S. Mr Archibald Hurd, commenting on the Admiralty’s shipping return, says that unless the Germans hit upon a more eft - ective means of attack, which is always possible, the output of the shipyards will outpace sinkings with the assistance of American yards. The defeat of piracy, aa far as can be foreseen, is definite.
