Anglo-French tanks crossed A vre and Luce rivers, and the valley around Monsel. German resistance is terrific. Washington, August 8, Additional American forces crossed the ,Vesle|west Fismes. Americans are “meeting counter attacks, the Germans attempting by means of barrages to prevent farther crossing. Bayonet lighting has occurred at several places. The Americans are endeavouring to drive the enemy from high ground near Bazoebes.
