ASQUITH PREPARING FOR GENER AL ELECTION. (Aust. and N.Z. Cable Association.) Loudon, Feb. 24. Mr Asquith, addressing the Liberal agents on the necessity for preparing for a general election when-the new register, doubling the number of voters, is completed, said : The Liberal Party is not going to be obliterated or to merge its identity in any new embryonic political combination. Its continued independent activity was never more necessary as multiplied and complicated problems of peace and reconstruction will soon confront us.
