HUNTERVILLE NOTES

The Red Cross Shop was controlled on Tuesday last by the Mis=es Meads am Gower, assisted by Miss B. McMillan, Rsta. The returns for the month of December amounted to £74 3s 7d. The competitions resulted as follows—Cake won by Mrs Garrick, counterpane, by Master Kenneth Gifford. Baby’s outfit, by Miss Hazel Martin. Cushion, Mrs Ben lllston, Doll and bed, Miss Alderson; pen painting, Mr Arnold Bartlett. The Red Cross Shop will not be open during January. The Hunterville school “broke up” for the annual Christmas holidays on "Wednesday, Master Cecil Higgins is “dux” of the school. A sale of work will be held in Temperance Hall, on Saturday, in aid of Dr Barnadoe’s Home, There will be no charge for admission. Atfernoon tea will provided, at the nominal charge of 6d. The local shops will be closed on Tuesday, Xmas Day, also Wednesday and Thursday, to enable thetrades people to avail themselves of the opportunity of securing a few days’ holiday.
