WESTERN RANGITIKEI SCHOOL.

The annual picnic of the above school wi s held in Mr J. McLean’s bush on 12th December, and there was a good attendance of parents and children. A very pleasant afternoon was spent by the children in running races and games, and afternoon tea was dispensed by the ladies. Mrs S. Coombe kindly presented each child under school age with a box of chocolates and a crepe de chene handkerchief. Each senior girl was presented with a brooch, junior girls with a hair ribbon, senior boys with a tie, and junior boys with a kh ;ki handkerchief. Owing to the absence of the Chairman of the Committee, the prizes were presented by Mr Jack Brice, a member of the committee. PRIZE LIST. Standard YI —Una Johnston drawingb ook and attendance.
