Note. —Quotations unless otherwise specified are average market prices on the spot:— Meat. —Good demand continues for all descriptions of meat owing to shortage of supplies. The price of New Zealand and Home grown mutton and lamb has advanced. Bnttev: Market remains firm; Banish quiet, 170 s to 1745; Siberian, good demand, Fills to loSs: Irish creamery, steady, 1(52s to KJfis; Australian , 15Ss to llils; New Zealand, active demand, 08s tol 70s for both salted and nusalted, fair to good quality ISSs to KiOs; Argentine, a4s to 58s.

Cheese: Market very firm, prices firmly’ maintained; Canadian, of which stocks are light, 115 s yd; English, Cheddar 118 s to 1225, New Zealand, white Ills to 115 s, coloured Hits to Ills; United States, less offering, 108 s to 110 s. Hemp: Market quiet, with tendency’ in favour of buyers, caused by heavy shipments having come to hand from Manila. It is reported that there is very littie New Zealand hemp offering. New Zealand good fair is realising £l9 10s, lair £l7 10s; M/imla, fair £55. For MayJnly delivery, New Zealand good fair is quoted at £lB, fair £4O; Manila, fair £sl: coarse £sl. The output from Manila for the week was 53,000 bales. Wheat; Market is quiet; Canadian offerings very’ small ; Canadian arrived 5Ss, April May delivery 57s ; Australian, afloat 01s; Argentine 00s.

Oats: Market dull, very little business doing: Argentine, arrived au. Linseed: Market quiet; Calcutta 70s; Argentine, 07s. Wool: Market strong; all stocks advancing,
