Mr Asquith promised to make a statement re, concessions to Ulster on Monday, when moving the second reading of the Home Rule Bill. A NEW DEVELOPMENT, London. March 3. The changed tone of the Radical Press indicates the possibility of a general eleotiun in the autumn, after pushing the Home Rule Bill as far as possible in tne event of non-set-tlement in Parliament.
GENERAL ELECTION IMPENDING. Received March 4, 1 p.m. London, March 3. The Daily News admits that a section of the Radicals and Labourites favour a general election in the autumn. Reynolds Newspaper aad the Chronicle both make a similar statement.
The Morning Post forecasts an election soon after June. The Pall Mall Gazette declares that an election is in sight.
AN INFLUENTIAL APPEAL.
FOR A SOLEMN DECLARATION
A letter signed by Lord Roberts, Sir H. Ridu Kipling, Lords Milner and Desborough, Professor Dicey, Sir William Ramsay, Sit Edward Elgar and others appeals to their fellow countrymen to join in a solemn declaration that, if Home Rule is passed without being submitted to the electors, they will feel justified in trying to prevent it being put in operation, and particularly in endeavouring to prevent 4 5 ie use of troops against Ulster.
