AMUSEMENTS.

THE NIGHT SIDE OF LONDON. To-morrow evening George Marlow's new dramatic Company will appear for one performance in the Opera House, Marton, the production being the London and Australian success "The Night Side of London." The author, C.Watson Mill, has been responsible for a great number of dramatic successes, but critics declared him to have excelled himself in the production of "The Night Side of London." This drama portrays a vivid etory of life, the principal character being a young girl who goes to London to fight her way in the world, and there is shown tbe machinations and temptations that beset her on almost every hand. One of the most striking sentences in the drama is "Good looks are a ortrse to a lonely girl,' *and around this hinges much that is realistic and stirring. A young clergyman also goes to London to look for good, but finds evil on every hand, and between these two and Herod Steinburg (the of the typewriting agencj) interest is centred throughout. There are four acts and numerous incidental scenes, the scenery will be the original production as shown in Sydney and Melbourne, while t*e company is an exceptionally strong one nearly all prinoipals being new to New Zealand audiences. The box plan has been opened at Mogridge's, and indications point to orowded houses, and patrons would do well to book to ensure good seats. Popular prices are charged. The day sale tickets are obtainable at Mogridge's, and for the convenience of townspeople the performance will not start until 8.30. p.m.
