YOUTH SHOT DEAD

Per Press Association. Gisborne, September 1. Edgar Evans, aged 14, was shot dead by a companion, Harold Parker aged 13, with whom four others were out shooting yesterday. After lunch one of the party loaded a gun and laid it on the ground, Parker picked it up and, not knowing that it was loaded, pulled the trigger, shooting Evans, who was only a few feet away.
