MR G. CHAMBERLAIN'S GRAVITATION.
Mr G.. Chamberlain announces that the thoroughbred horfee Gravitation (Birkenhead— Stepfeldt) will -be at the service of breeders in the Wanganui and Rangitikei districts. Gravitation is 6 years old, standing 16.1, being brown in colour. Looking through the pedigree of Gravitation, it will be seen that the highest caste of racing blood predominates. Birkenhead, his sire, was Tired in England, being by \ Orme, his dam Tragedy, by Ben' Battle. Stepfeldt is a full sister, to She and Stepniak (New Zealand's leading sire) all of them being by L Nordenfeldt. Stepfeldt herself is the j dam of such brilliant performers as Elevation, Provocation and Gravi:. tation. She, the dam of Bobadil,,. was a great performer and her son Bobadil's-racing career will be wellremembered for some time to come, running 23 races, winning 13, second 6, third 2, unplaced twice. Total winnings—£7697. Bpbadil's career at tne stud is a most brilliant one. His stock have won about £32,000. . From the above it will be seen that there is every, prospect of Gravitation's progeny making a brilliant name for their sire. Taking Stepniak She, and Stepfeldt, it would be hard indeed to find a better combination, the three having left the best racing strain of blood in the Australasian . colonies.
Gravitation will be at Turakina on Mondays, Marton on Wednesdays, and at Windleburn's Stables, Wanganui, i the remainder of the week. Terms £6 6s; two or more aB per arrangement. All mares not proving in foal" to Zimmerman last season ■ will- be served at half fee.
