Per Press Association. Levin, August 39. A. J. Kemp, a Levin dairy farmer, was convicted by Mr Poynton, S.M., this morning for selling, milk adulterated with water, A sample was taken at Levin Railway Station as the cans were being consigned to Wellington. The police asked for an exemplary penalty as retailers In Wellington were held responsible by law immediately the milk passed into their possession. Defendant pleaded ignorance of how the water gotNinto the cans. He was convicted and fined £5 and costs.
