William Robbie, a pioneer, aged 91, has died at Ballarat. He lived for years in apparent poverty, but after bis death it was discovered that he owned property to the value of £BO,OOO. He bequeathed £650 to relatives, £SO to Ballarat Hospital, and the balance of the estate goes to found Robbie scholarships in chemistry, mathematics and natural philosophy at Aberdeen University.
