MARTON A. & P. ASSOCIATION.

FIRST ANNUAL MEETING,

The first annual meeting of Marton Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held is the Ootonaiton Hail on Wednesday evening. Mr G. If, Marshall presided over a large attendance of members The report and balance-sheet, which appeared in last evening’s issue, were read and adopted. The rules and regulations as submitted by a sub-committee were adopted with several minor alterations. The following officers were elected for the ensuing season: —Patron, Mx E. Newman, M.P. ; president, Mr G. L. Marshall; vice-presidents, Messrs L. M. Richards, E. J. Wilde, John Morrison, and K K Simpson; treasurer, Mr FR H Brice; secretary, Mr R B Kilgour; auditor, Mr P. J Siadden ; general committee, Messrs ,H J Cameron, J Wilson, S Coombe, E Netherclift, W C Kensington, A Way, E Lloyd, J G Simpson, F Rickman, J A Bush, P Sinclair, P Miller, J Brice, E R Galpin, F L Anderson, HR Gaisford, S J Howard, H McManaway, R W Harris, A E Penny, J McDonell, J O Meyer, and H Morrison. The last eight committeemen retire nest year, and the following members in rotation.

A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the Marton Jockey Club tor the very liberal manner in which they placed their grounds and buildings at the disposal of the Association. It was decided to hold an Autumn Show. The secretary reported that the following donations had been promised for the forthcoming Show:— Messrs G L Marshall, W C Kensington, I.S 0., and L M Richards £5 5s each ; Isaac Jefferson, Howard and Inglis, and Jas. Wilson £5 each ;Johu Morrison £5 3s; S. Coombe, E R Galpin, E Lloyd, Mark Oollinson, HS C Morrison, R E Beckett, H McManaway and Dr. Crawford £2 2s each; W A Smith (dog classes) £2 10s; E C Netherclift £1 Is; Otto Neumann and H F Arkwright £1 each. A vote of thanks to Mi Marshall concluded a most enthusiastic meeting, and there is no doubt that the officials appointed to conduct the Association’s business in the future will endeavour to eclipse the success of the Association at its inaugural Show.
