OHAKEA NOTES.

From Our Own Correspondent, g A meeting of Ohakea Sports Club jffiici in the Schoolbouse on Thursday, 6th inst., and the committee who were in strong force had their time fully occupied until close to the midnight hour arranging details in connection with tkelr forthcoming Sports. Mr J. A. Bailey has very generously donated a gold bangle as first prize in the ladies’ driving, and Mr J A’Conxfe a gold pendant as second prize in same event. Mr D. Hammond’s trophy is to be awarded for most points in the Ohakea Handicap. Other trophies have also been promised. The Committee wish to extend their hearty thanks to these gentlemen for their liberal support. All trophies won at these sports are to he presented by the president, Mr J. A. Bailey after the event No. 17. The Club may well congratulate*- themselves on having suoh a man as Mr F. Gabites as secretary ‘as he is never tiring in Ins work for.the good of the Club.
