SHORT OF MONEY.
United Press Association.—By Electrie Telegraph.—Copyright. Sydney, November 5. The Government’s predicament in the matter of shortage of money, produced further wholesale sacking, and five hundred employees of the Water Board were dismissed. The Board, which has expended eight thousand in the past four months, has been informed that seventy five thousand is available for the remaining eight months of the year. Possibly another five hundred dismissals will be necessary The employees, at present total two thousand.

Owing to the slackness of work at Garden Island naval yard two hundred hands [have been -dismissed. The curtailment "of Mnrrumbidgee irrigation works will involve the displacement of a large number.
