A heavy swell yesterday and today restated in a further considerable strain on the Star of Canada which necessitated suspension of operations In various directions The special batch which was placed over No 3 hold to confine the water to the lower decks was burst npr wards by the force of water from below, the heavy beams being shattered. *lt is expected that the balance of the grain cargo will bo jettisoned to-day. An attempt has been made to salvage the bnllion valued at' £35,000 at the bottom of No. 3 hold.
