STEWART ISLAND-SENSATION.

The Blnff Press states yiat a sensation ooontred at Stewart Island in connection with the coaling of the Norwaigan whalers at Paterson’s Tale*. The s.s Ngatoro, from Westport. brought 400 tons of coal for the Norwegians oh Thursday, and commenced discharging into the barque Mimosa at Paterson’s lalst. The time allotted for discharge was 48 hours, bat Captain Christian did fast work, and the work was completed in 13 hours. It appears that ’ Captain Didrlckon, of the Mimosa, declined to pay over on completion of discharge, maintaining that as 84 hours had beers allotted the Ngatcro beloaged to him on charter for that period, and he would act allow bar to leave. He did not' do bo. On Sunday he was threatened with the seizure of the vessel, and he then paid over, the costs having in the meantime amounted to between £4O and £SO. The Ngatcro left for Grey month on Sanday morning to load coal for s.s. Nairnshire at Lyttelton.
