" President Taft has written to the Senate’s Finance Committee, favouring She repeal of the Canadian Reciprocity Act in consequence of Canada’s refusal to enter into a.trade pact. President Taft’s move is regarded as an endeavour to conciliate the farming element which bitterly opposed the agreement- of 1911.
