SANDON NOTES.

From Our Own Correspondent. The annnal Sanson School BalE was held at the Town'Hall, Sanson, on Friday evening. The floor was in excellent condition, and although' some parties had to nass through two* feet of water over 60 couples took:part in tbe evening’s amusement.. The M’s.O. were Messrs R. Sanson, P. Bo water and W. Mclntyre, who* carried out their dnties fa a very pleasing manner. A strong committee of ladles provided an excellent spread which no donbt was the* best table of the season. Great credit is due to Misses- A. Sanson, M. Sanson, and M. Ferrett who • were responsible for the way Ib. which the tables were decorated. The waiters were Messrs J; Currie,. W. Mclntyre. F. Tostevin, H; L. Wallace, P. Bowater and P. Walters,, and the ladies were Mesdames San--son, F. Bowater and Walters. The mnsic was rendered by Haybittle’s * Orchestra In the nsnal good style, and extras were contributed by Misses M. Rlgley and Lawrence and Mr Small (3). The last waltz took: place at about 6 p. m. The Sanson folk have now before them a great opportunity to have an insight Into tbs treatment of animals. Mr D. H. Rait, M.R O.V.S. (London), who has for ten years been veterinasy surgeon to the New Zealand Government, Is giving a course' of lectures at Sanson School, commencing on Thursday, the 18th lust., on the treatment of tbe various diseases of animals, inolnding mammltie, which will be of great value and Interest to the many Sanson milkers. The passengers on the Felidlng-Rongotea-Ssndon motor bus bad a rather unpleasant ride on Friday evening on account of the flood. As the oar was attempting to cross a stream of water overflowing the road, it stopped, where it remained until Mr J. MoMinn, of Sanson, brought along one of his horses and towed the unfortunate car to dry land. , .
