LORD KITCHENER.

United Press Association.— By Electric Telegraph. -Copyright.

Brisbane, January 4,

Lord Kitchener, provided with troops at the Lytton camp, consisting of lignt horse and Infantry, did a strenuous day’s work operating against a supposed force which landed from a hostile fleet at Cleveland, twenty miles from the camp, and marching upon Brisbane. Expecting surprise orders, few officers went to bed. The “turn out” came at two in the morning. By three the whole force was marching. For several hours they were kept busy manoeuvring over difficult country. Evidently the intention of the Field Marshal was to test the mobility of the force, .the stamina of the men and the resourcefulness of the leaders.
