BULLS SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

The monthly meeting of the above committee was held yesterday evening. Present: Messrs T. H. Downes (chairman). B. T. Wearue J. McGregor H. Homes H. Kearney and (J. H. Hinkley. OorrespnSdenco was read from— Wanganui Education Board intimating that an election of a member for the Middle District would be held and enclosing nomination paper.—On the motion of tho chairman seconded by Mr McGregor it was decided to nominate Mr 'Mr D. H. Guthrie for the position. From tho Bible in Schools Committee, asking for support in advocating that the Bible be read in schools under certain conditions. After some discussion : it was proposed by Mr Hearne, seconded by 1 Mr McGregor, that the movement be supported by tliis Committee, which was carried, olio member dissenting. An exemption certificate was granted to a bondholder whose child had been absent from school under exceptional circumstances. An accouftt for moiety of fencing amounting to £2 lid was passed for payment. Messrs Kearney and Homes* Were appointed Visiting Committee for the ensuing mouth. It was decided that a ball in aid of the school funds be held on the Friday, nearest tho full moon in August.
