At the meeting of North Camara School Committee a circular was read from Wellington Citizens’ Bible in Schools Committee asking for an expression of opinion upon the question of the Bible being read in schools as a classic, the State school teachers only to supervise the reading. After discussion it was resolved 1 ‘ That this committee cannot support the proposal because it limits reading of the Bible to under State teachers and excludes 1 r ■ ministers who are better qualified i, and who have for years given Bible" instruction in the school with distinct advantage.
