The Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency °o. .Ltd., report that at the sale at Palmerston on Thursday, owing to the tonga •weather and flooded state or tne country stock did not come forward as advertised. The steep entered were usable to get to the yards. Bidding was slack and very little business was done at auction, but bulk of the yarding was quitted afterwards. Quotations :—Weaners 15s to 28s, yearlings 31s, 2-year heifers ads 6d, fat and forward cows and heifers £3 15s, 18-months steers £2 14s, 2year steers £2 17a 6d. Bidding for both descriptions or stock was good, with the result that the yarding was cleared at auction. Quotations.— Sheep: Mixed lambs good-13s 4d, f.m. ewes in lamb 10s 3d, 2 and 4-tooth ewes Kis Id. Cattle: Weancr steers 27s Cd, mixed weaners 15s, 20s, 255; 18-months steers 52s (3d, 58s; heifers £3 4s, 18-months empty heifers 30s, forward heifers £3 13s, forward cows £3 4s, £3 18s J fid;'cows and calves £2 10s, springing cows £4 ss. Mr W. D. Johnston's sale, Wednesday.— Owing to the very rough weather the attendance was small. With the exception of the cows, lor which there were no buyers, everything was sold at fair prices. Feilding, Friday.— There was a fair entry of sheep and cattle, the rougli weather, however, preventing several lots from coming forward.
