The chairman, read a letter he had -just received from Mr Jolin Stevens, MH.R., as follows-.—Dear Sir,— , Having observed through the columns of this evening's Kaugitikei Advocate that a proposal is on foot to add an additional room to the Marton Technical School for the purpose of a commercial class room and that the required funds are not yet fully subscribed, it affords me much pleasure to transmit herewith my cheque for two guineas towards this desirable object. May Ibe pardoned if I suggest that although, the original protect by Mr McDonald could not bo carried out that it might not be inappropriate if the room were named "The Seddon Commercial Classroom '' This is merely a suggestion and my contribution is not dependent upon the acceptance of this or any other condition as I have every confidence that the committee and meeting of snbscirbers will deal with the funds iu such a manner as will realise the best results for their laudablo efforts.—With my best wishes for the success of the project, I am, yours truly.-JOHN STEVENS. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mr Stevens for his contribution and it was unanimously agroed that his suggestion as to naming the room should be carried out though the shorter form "The Seddon Classroom" was preferred, on the ground that the room might be used for other purposes than purely commercial classes. „ , , The chairman briefly recounted the history of the scholarship fund and tho following resolution proposed by Mr Gibbons and seconded by Mr Purnell was carried :—'' That this meeting of subscribers to the proposed Seddon Memorial Scholarship Fund unanimously consent to tho money subscribed to such fund being diverted for the -purpose of providing an additional room for commercial classes at the Technical School to bo called "The Seddon Classroom."
