'Mr John Gunn, licentiate, has been called to the chargo of the Presbyterian Church at Maugaweka. The Executive Committee of the Apiti Horticultural Society tendered a smoke concert to Mr E. Roberts evening. Eulogistic references as treasurer, and to his popularity whilst in the post department. He was presentedjwith an engraving suitably framed and mounted. Mr Roberts briefly repiled, thanking all for the presentation and the good wishes.

A meeting of Apifci branch of the Farmers' Union was held on Saturday evening, when Mr Johnstone gave an address on the rabbit pest, and ways and means of coping with it. Mr L. E. Jackson spoke of the stops which had already been taken at'Kimbolton to eradicate the evil. A number of settlers doubted the existence of rabbits in Apiti till Mr F. Elliott prodiiced five scalps, which 'he mentioned were rabbits found on iiis property. After further discusisou it was resolved to form a strong committee to work the district, and report the result at the next meeting.
