LAND SALES.

Mr Percy Forlong’s report •.-—Since my last report, and during the last three weeks, I have noticed a decided increase of outside buyers for broad acres in this district, which may be taken as evidence that land in this district is cheaper than in other parts of New Zealand. I quote having sold the following estates, viz:— Mr Adam Wilkie’s property “ Headlands” comprising 687 acres near Fordell to Mr Alfred Barnett; Messrs McGregor Bros., 170 acres on Onga Boad, near Hunterville, to Mr Christophers, of Wanganui j Mr Alfred Burnett’s property near Fordell to Mr George Allen, of Hawera; Mr H. F. Christie’s beautiful residence and 8 acres of ground on St. John’s Hill to a client of Mr Wm. Gruar’s j Mr Giiberd’s section of 5 acres at Matipo to the Bev. Mr Martin, of Apiti j Mr Sterne’s farm at Westmere to Mr Roberts of Kai Iwi. In conjunction with Messrsi G. A, Preeco and Co., of Palmerston North, 1 have sold Mr John Wilkie’s beautuul property ''Lilly Bank” at Meatmere Station, to Hr Arthur Harding, of Hawke’s Bay; also several sections of the Grange Estate, which we are cutting up on behalf of Mr Harding, at from £l7 to _£46 per aC re. The keen demand for sections of this Estate speaks well for thenvalue at these prices.
