Kiwitea Hack Racing Club. The second annual meeting of the Club was held yesterday in Mr Bruce’s paddock; Cheltenham. Probably owing to the rather threatening weather in the morning the attendance was not large and there were very few ladies present. The management by the officials left nothing to be desired; Mr J, MoDonell was suocessfulin his starting and in most of the events the racing was good and finishes close. Basalts Maiden Flat, 7 furlongs. Mr E. Akapita’s, Snip (A. P. Dick) ... 1 Mr J. Hehir’s South Queen (owner)... 2 Mr J. Jackman’s Junr. Paparaeiki ... 3 Also ran. Paranui, Waitara, Handsome Daddy, Goraida,, Master King, Won by a couple of lengths. Time, Imin 38lsec. Flying Handicap, 6 furlongs. Mr W. Lumsden’s Zelma (Futcher).... I Mrs Hastie’s Gold Dredge (Higgins) 2 Mr T. E. Taylor’s Marinella (owner) 3 Also ran: Makino. A good race between first and second coming up the straight. Trial Hurdles, 14 miles. Mr C. D.
