BRUTAL AND COURAGEOUS.
THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THIGERMANS AXD THE AUSTRIAN'S.
Major Graham Aspland has just arrived in England from Vienna and fc'orvia. fu an account of the position in Servia up to as late as ihe middle of February lie paid to a Heater representative that there was growing irritation between Ausirians and Germans, and that the former desired to bring the war to an cue. He emphasised the sharp contrast between the courteous and genUemanly behaviour of the Austrians and the uncouth and brutal conduct Oi the Germans.
Practically none but women arc left in Servia, for the Austrians havo called up all Servian men from seventeen to fifty and have interned them in Austria. The population suffers no ill-treatment from the Austrians, but the condition of the people is frightful. This is due to (he Germans, who first cleared the country of everything they wanted.
