GLENBROOK.
THE WAIUKU RAILWAY. Great int.rest is being taken in this district re the railway to Waiuku and the route it will take. Report bad it that the survey would be confined to the old route that was surveyed about 60 years ago, It was therefore thought advisable to wait on the engineer, Mr Hall-Jones, and the position this district holds and its need for consideration for railway communication, A d< putatijn was arranged by the President of the local League to wait on Mr Hall-Jnnes, but before doing so Mr Hall-Jones was asked if he could receive one. His reply was in the negative; be not being able to receive any deputation without the consent of the Prime Minister. Mr Chalmers therefore wired the Hon. Mr Massoy asking for consideration to he given to Glenbrook when the survey was being made on Satu.day. ''he following reply was received from the Prime Mioister: —"Your wire received. Will certainly see Glenbrook receives consideration in survey in matter of Waiuku railway.—W. F. Massey."
