RUGBY RESULTS Representative Games The two representative matches played at Putaruru Q n Saturday resulted as follows: — , Seniorfe Te Awamutu 15, Putaruru 0. Third Grade Matamata 14 Putaruru 8. FOOTBALLER’S DEATH Victim Of Motor Accident Frederick J. Lea, who played in Saturday’s Finlay Cup fixture between Te Awamutu and Putaruru, was killed near Ohinewai later in the day on his way north when a New Zealand lioad Services bus on which he was travelling collided with a parked truck. Mr. Lea was a major in World War 11. and was the holder of the Military Cross and the American Silver Star. He served with .the temporary staff until he was recommissioned and went overseas to the 24th Battalion as a lieutenant. He served in the Middle East campaigns and was the first New Zealand officer to be wounded in Italy. He was mentioned in despatches and was later awarded the Military Cross.
