EFFECT OF RESTRICTIONS Thames Valley Power Beard’s Year Presented by the manager, Mr. R. Sprague, to Tuesday’s meeting of the Thames Valley Electric Power Board, the statement of accounts and balance-sheet for the year ended March 31, 1947, showed a profit including trading, of £5030 10s. This amount was less by £6945 15s 2d than the profit for the year ended March, 1946. Gross sales of electricity totalled £204,854 14s 7d, against £224,521 Is 9d, an increase of £330 12s 9d, whereas net revenue was £197,671 Is lOd, against £196,077 5s 6d, an increase of £ls9® 16s sd. Services responsible for the increases were domestic (lighting, heating andi waterheaters) £4889 14s lid, and) industrial revenue, £5037 9s 4d. Milking and farm motors decreased by £9684 5s 4d, due wholly to the decrease in charges given the farming consumers last year. Mr. Sprague said consideration should be given to the fact that this year’s dairying season hadi improved on last year, and the reductions given actually were greater than £9634 5s 4d.
