SCHOOL NEWS
On Saturday, although -the weather was wet, the school (basketball teams took part in competition gomes. The results of games in which school teams participated ware: School A 7, Te Whetu 1; School B 1, Putaruru Red 4; School C lost by default to Intermediate A; Intermediate B 0, Tokoroa Red 5. Under very wet and heavy conditions the High School first fifteen had its' first win in the competition against Tokoroa. The good work otf the forwards in linesout and scrums was the decisive factor of the game. For School the captain, J. Howland, scored a try and D. Domett kicked two penalty goals. At present there are two relieving teachers on the school staff, Miss Marshall and Miss Grant.
On Tuesday the pupils attended matinee of the Goodwin Marionette Theatre which was sponsored by the Community Arts Service. .
