WOMEN’S DIVISION
PUTARURU MEETING A meeting of the Putaruru branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union was held in the rest rooms on Monday of last week. Mrs W. Van Veen, president, was in the chair. There was a fair attendance of members. Mrs Baldwin played the accompaniment for the singing of the National Anthem, and the usual business was attended to. The •East Waikato Provincial meeting will be held at Tirau on August 7. A letter of thanks was read from Corso, acknowledging the sum of £23, the takings of a street stall held recentlyThe Women’s Institute sent an invitation to their birthday party. In future the W.D.F.U. will be known as “The .Women’s Division of Federated Farmers.”
A bring and buy stall will be held at ’.he next meeting, the proceeds ; 3 be donated to the Boy Scouts.
