HOME & SCHOOL ASSOCIATION
ADDRESS BY SENIOR INSPECTOR
At the next meeting of the Home and School Association, which is to. be held on Thursday, August 8, at 8 p.m., in the Rest Room, Putaruru, the special speaker for the evening Wiil be Mr. A. Mertington,- senior inspector of schoolo in the Auckland Education Board area. Mr. Merlington, who is a very able and forceful speaker, will discuss modem education and indicate the aims and methods followed in our schools. At the conclusion of his address there will be ample opportunity for a discussion and questions. Parents and all interested in education are invited to be present and it is hoped that a large attendance will indicate the interest that is being taken in education locally. Mr, Merrington has always been a keen advocate of elepsr and' better relationships between parents and teachers, and will discuss the. value of the home and school movement in New Zealand to-day. A special invitation to be present is also extended to all' members of local bodies and those interested in education generally, whether a parent or not. The Home and School Association is primarily an organisation of all people who. are prepared to take an active interest in education in this school district which stretches from Arapuni to Ovei'dale. - it
