MAMAKU HILLS SPEED LIMIT
is IT WARRANTED? • A press report of the suggestion of a traffic inspector, recommending the adoption of a speed limit of 30 miles per hoar on the Mamaku hills, was discussed by ; the Automobile Association (says the Association Bulletin). . In view of the patrols’ reports and other evidence to the contrary it was considered by the association .that the fixing of a speed limit on the Mamaku hills between Tirau and Rotorua was entirely unwaijranted and would be strongly opposed by the association. A patrol covering this road mentioned that the majority of the traffic was extremely orderly, and there seemed to be little of the excessive speed attributed to traffic in previous years.
