PUTARURU LADIES’ CLUB Annual Meeting Members of the Putaruru Ladies’ Golf Club held their annual meeting on Thursday evening. increased Membership The report for the 1933 season referred to the membership, which was greater than it had ever been. Three members were now in the Ladies’ Golf Union silver division, which entitled the club to have one of the L.G.U. silver medals 'as well as the bronze medal for the coming season. It was felt that the bronze medal competition might have better support. Although 'in itself the medal was of no great value the competition was world-wide and should be regarded by members accord-' ingly. , The accounts revealed a surplus. It had been hoped to reduce “the L.G.U. levy to one shilling a member, but the union required the club to contribute 6d for each playing member for international matches in addition to the levy. The Is 6d how being paid would just cover the club’s indebtedness to the union.

Election of Officers The officers for the 1934 season were elected its follows: President, Mrs. R. T. Smith; vice-president, Mrs. H. B. Coupe; hon. secretary and treasurer, Miss M. MacLaren; assist-ant-secretary, Miss McCarroll; captain, Miss Wallis; committee, Mesdames ~ Tulloch, Root, Gibbs, Hooper; social committee, Mrs. Drummond, Misses Barnett, .Coupe, Pearce, ■Holst and Gray. ' Captain’s Retirement The retiring captain, Mrs. F. C. Barnett, who had filled that; position for the past five seasons, was accorded a vote of thanks for her services.
