RACING PERMITS.
BASIS OF ALLOCATION. Strong Matamata Criticism. That more active efforts be made to secure a permit for an extra day’s racing, was urged by Mr. J. C. Potts at the annual meeting of the Matamata Racing Club. Mr. Potts said he had noticed that other clubs made big efforts in this direction and had approached the Hon. J. A. Young. He suggested a committee be set up to prosecute this move. Mr. G. G. Bell seconded the suggestion, and held that next to Waipa the Matamata club was most deserving of the extra day. On the motion of Messrs. J. Price and J. Landells, the executive was instructed to appoint a committee to wait on the Hon. J. A. Young on the subject.
