MAGISTRATE’S COURT.

SITTING AT PUTARURU. The bi-monthly sitting of the Magistrate’s Court in Putaruru was held on Thursday before Mr. W. G. Kenrick, S.M., when there was a lighter list than usual. NO ORDER. E. R. Strugneil proceeded against W. J. Fish for recovery of a debt, but defendant was able to prove that since last October he had only earned an average of £6 per month. The magistrate refused to make an order. A PLEA FAILS. Robert Theobald, a bushman of ’lokai, in defending a case brought y Messrs. S. Beca and Sons, stated h. 3 was a married man with three hildren. He earned 19s Gd per day, .eat of which he paid 7s 6d for rent and 27s fid for board. In answer to a question Theobald stated he only had a drink when he was asked, and played tv.-o-up only on occasions. He had to send his wife to Rotorua on account of ill-health. The bench made an order for a weekly payment of 10s. SALE OF TRUCK. Leonard Francis Flynn was charged that at Tirau on May 27, being the registered owner of a motor truck, he did dispose of the said truck without notifying the deputyregistrar of the fact.
