MOTOR COLLISION
I WALTON MAN INJURED. I i _ i There was a rather serious motor j co.l. Jinn on the Waharoa road, about ' 2_ m»les from Matamata, on Friday i night, by which Mr. Cliff. Dawson, a ! farmhand employed by Mr. S. J. | Locke, of Walton, suffered concussion. Mr. Dawson, it is reported, had been to Matamata, and left Mr. Sharpe’s motor cycle shop for the homeward journey. His lamp, it is stated, was alight at the time. Along the Waharoa road a collision occurred between his motor cycle and a baker’s motor delivery van, belonging to Mr. Hicks, of Waharoa. The force of the impact was such that the motor van was turned round, facing in the opposite direction, two wheels were smashed off, and also the top of the vehicle. The motor cycle was also exter lively damaged. The driver of the van admitted to the police that he ha.’ no regulation lights, and was using a bulls-eye lamp. Mr. Dawson was taken home, and is recovering.
