TOWN BOARD.
The regular monthly meeting of the above Board was held last night. Present—Messrs Reese (in the chair), H. Sedcole, Crimp, and Burrows. An apology was received from Mr Eager for non-attendance. Leave of absence was granted. CORRESPONDENCE. Letter from Woodville Jflbilee Committee, re celebration on 29th.—Ordered to be laid on the table. ntUSO STREET. Mr J. Gregory waited on the Board and requested them to fell about 20 chains on Tudor-street leading to the Tiraumea Road. There was a considerable demand for the sections fronting the street, and if it was felled no doubt it would soon be built upon. He was
anxious to fence his section, and fur this reason he made the application. On the motion of Mr Scdcolc, seconded by Mr Burrows, it was decided that tiie hush he felled as requested. The matter was left in Mr Sedcole's hands to deal with. ns ocx. The Treasurer reported the overdraft to be £OS 10s 18d. Au account of U)s lOd, County rates, was passed for payment. RATES. Resolved that Mr Tosswill be re quested to render a full account of all rates collected up to dale. TENDERS. •The following teuders were received : Metalling Mangahao Hoad.— T. Mexted, lid per yard -18 s 9d per chain—(accepted); Ford and Edwards, 15s per chain, or Is per yard. Fencing Town Hall.—B. Hathaway, £5 7s (accepted); P. Meyer, £7 10*. One of the tenders was put in a little after the advertised tune. The Board decided to receive it on this occasion, | but in future to adhere strictly to the time specified in advertisement. RIDINO ON FOOTPATHS. This question was again brought up. and it was resolved to take steps to preveut people riding and driving oil footpaths. NOTICE OF MOTION. Notice was given by Mr Reese to move at next meeting, That the salary of the Clerk be raised from £2O to £4O a year;
