Bush Fires in Australia.

IMMENSE DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY AND SHEEP.

The bush fires in the Waggm district are out. after destroying an enormous acreage of grass. Two (ires commenced on Tuesday, one at AraJjoel and tin* otln r on Mr George Hardwcli's run. The fire then run through to Mitchael MVarthy's ground. Tho fire destroyed about HOO * a'-rct, uni several miles of fencing on Gilmore's bind, and consumed a wool-died ami sleep yards, burning 81X10 acres right out, with the exception of alwnit 00 acres. Gilmore lost mistook. Richard Tuffe lost about ff'XHI acres of grata and several miles of fencing. Francis ('. Hyde's selection of 010 acre* is also denuded of grass. From this point the flumes spread in three directions, running from Bard* ll's to Williams' land, which were burned out. Timothy Glavin was also a losi-r, 040 acres of grass ami a large number of posts being destroyed along with u quantity of fencing. Fisher, close by. was burned out, losing a quantity of brush and drop fencing. James Bollu r lost the grass on 2000 acres ; William Churchill, 640 acres ; George Rogers, 1.280 acres; Thomas Claxton, 11 1 M• acres ; George Burcliam, about 043 acres ; William Simple, ulxmt !MKI acres ; Thomas Johnson, 040 acres of grass and three acres of wheat, Johnson, father of the last-named, about 040 acres of grass. Three horses w ere also so badly burned tlmt they had to be shot. Messrs Bloomfield lost 128 acres of grass and 300 sheep. D itch, of Berry Jerry, lost u large quantity of grass but no stoek. It is estimated that over 100,000 acres of grass has been destroyed in this portion of tlio district this season. A telegram from I'rana states that over 0000 wethers have l>een burnt at Broskong. The fires started at Galore and worked up to Old Man Creek through part of the Bullenbong ran.
