Laud Board.

The ordinary meeting of the Waste I,ami Board was held on Thursday. I'rosciit—Messrs. J. W. A. Marchant (Chief Commissioner), H. Bunny, G. Be* t ham, A. Bit«se, W. A. Flutter bert, and W. W. McCardla.

The Commissioner reported that the laud din|HM<ed of since last meeting amounted to 509 acres, the capital value being 13>07, and the receipts £2B 3s 1 Id.

An application by Mr A. Mead, to transfer section 10, block X., Mangaone, to Mr J. Croft, was approved. Mr T. Taylor applied to capitalise unpaid instalments on section 121, block XIV., Mangaoiie. He also applied for a simill piece of land between part of his section, 121, and the main

road. The -application to capitalise was approved, and it was decided to offer the land required on deferred payn. ■ at (Os per acre, Mr Coleman Phillips yvrotfc yrith-re-ference to his application for part of the Crown lands adjoining bis property at Dry River, which could not be offered owing to w ant of road access. Mr H. Egan applied to lie allowed to purchase a one-acre section in the Muugatainoka Village Settlement. The Board decided to asked what specific useful purpose the section is to be put before taking action. Mr C. B. Vine wrote applying for permission to take gravel from areserve on the Tiraumea Block XII,, Mangaliao. It was resolved to approve of the application, subject to the consent of the Road Board ; Mr Vine to take all risk of damage caused by liia excavations or diversion of river.

An application by Mr G. Whitcombe to he allowed to lease the Tiraumea Reserve was approved. The Board decided, on the motion of Mr Bunny, seconded by Mr Reese, that the application of the Wellington Special Settlement Association for secured thirds to he expended on roads within their block, be finally approved. The Commissioner reported that there was no objection to Mr T - Slater's application for part of small run No. 35, Maungakaretu Block, and it was decided to advertise tho two portions separately. The commissioner submitted proposals for the sals of Crown lands as follow :—0257 acres in the Maungakaretu Block, to he offered as small runs at 7£d per acre rental ; 6000 acres, abandoned by the Clifton Special Settlement Association in the Timakawa district, to be offered on the de-ferred-payment, perpetual lease, and small run systems; 1212 acres in the Apiti District, adjoining sections allotted to the Pemberton Special Settlement Association, to be offered on the perpetual lease and small run systems. Approved.
