Germany '3 military policy, that is, to rule by the sword, has caused President Wilson to make a strong indictment when explaining the Liberty Loan. The nation was wide awake now and Americans are more certain now than ever they were before that the cause is their own. Their groat nation's place and mission in the world were in peril was only one answer to the challenge—they had accepted it. The American Liberty Loan is subscribed to most enthusiastically. Two hundred citizens subscribed their quota on the first day. Evening attacks have been repulsed. They have made no change on the French front.
