MISHAP TO A SCOW.

STRIKES BARK BAY BEEF. The scow Kapua, which left Nelson at 11 o’clock on Friday night for Awarca to load flax for Wainui (reports the “Colonist”), struck Bark Bay reef at 4 o’clock on Saturday morning, and turned on her side. Captain Peter Johnston was below at the time, and a man named Pratt was at the helm. On Saturday the Kapua was picked up by the Hina and towed into Tonga Bay. It is understood that a hole was knocked in the vessel’s hull. The scow Vindex is awaiting favourable weather to proceed to Tonga to right the Kapua and bring her to Nelson.
