WHAT AN ARTIST.
A young factory hand thought he would like to improve his somewhat unfinished education, so he joined the evening class at the local school. On the first night the subject happened to be practical drawing, and during the course of the lesson the teacher passed round the room inspecting the students’ work. He stopped at the desk of our friend and, casting an approving glance at the drawing before him, remarked “Well done ! That’s the neatest drawing I’ve seen to-night. Are you fond of drawing ?” “Oh, yes, I like drawing,” was the reply. "I’m sure you do,” pursued the teacher, thinking he had at last found an intelligent student. "Which kind of work do you prefer—sketching, practical drawing, or what ?” “Well, sir,” said the student, after a moment’s reflection, "I like drawing mx wages bast 1”
